A BRASS-MOUNTED CAVALRY OFFICER'S SABRE WITH BLUE & GILT BLADE SIGNED 'F.W.K.B.',
early 19th century, possibly French, with curving broad fullered 33in. spear-point blade, the first third with floral and trophy engraving with traces of gilt infill on a blued ground (faded), brass stirrup hilt with borderline carved edges, drooping quillion and elongated boat-shaped langets, wire-bound leather hilt (losses to leather) and flat-topped pommel with diamond-shaped tang-boss, complete with its all-brass scabbard with twin loose suspension rings on banded mounts
